  3. Dec 17,  · Yes. But so was The Stranger. Then again, this isn’t that album - The Stranger uses its hamminess to its advantage. This is Billy Joel’s heavy psych outfit Attila we’re talking about. You know, the band that performed songs with titles like “Godzilla” and “Wonder Woman” and “Brain Invasion” that would make a teenager embarrassed?
  4. Rollin' Home is one of those albums that packed early Billy Joel material from both The Hassles and Attila. But I don't own this CD, but I do own a cassette reissue of the complete Attila album, from The album was originally released on Epic Records, but the cassette I 4/5(4).
  5. This is perhaps the worst album of all-time. At the same time, however, it is one of the most enjoyable. It is like listening to the best album you have ever heard. They both throw you a lot of suprises. While Attila is a lot of horrible surprises. This album serves a point and that point is to make you wonder how the fuck someone could write.
  6. Attila was an American rock band, most notable for having featured a young Billy Joel as a member. Joel was a member of a band called The Hassles; he and the drummer, Jon Small, broke away from the Hassles and formed Attila in The instrumentation was organ and drums, with Joel also handling the bass lines with a keyboard, similar to the Doors' Ray Manzarek.
  7. Attila undoubtedly is the worst album released in the history of rock & roll -- hell, the history of recorded music itself. There have been many bad ideas in rock, but none match the colossal stupidity of Attila. There's a reason why they're the only heavy rock organ-and-drums duo in the history of rock & roll -- it's an atrocious combination.

Nov 02,  · The original LP on Epic doesn't show up too often, so even if Joel visits the Long Island and New York City record stores to find copies of Attila to destroy, he might not find too many, which he should rest easy (although the Attila album had been reissued back in the s, and tons of those Attila releases combined with The Hassles material /5(32).
  9. Nov 11,  · Attila opens with “Wonder Woman” and some heavy freak-out organ, while Joel comes on like a cut-rate Robert Plant. The melody really isn’t that awful, but I’d still shoot it if it didn’t move so fast. When push comes to shove I’ve heard thousands of worse songs, which like this one I .
