  1. Little Walter is the bomb. Even if it cost too much brand new you can get it used at a much lesser price and in great shape. I couldn't ask for a better blues cd than Little Walter. Definitely classic blues/5(18).
  2. Details about R&B NEW BREED Little Walter UP THE LINE Checker 45 rare KILLER hot rocker!! See original listing. 3. The booklet is nice. It gives an overview of Little Walter's life and goes into a bit more detail about his musical career while at Chess Records. Interspersed throughout are mostly b&w photos of Little Walter, and a nice reproduction of an ad for his famous tune"JUKE"/5(26).
  4. Blues with a Feeling is a two-CD, track compilation which makes the perfect audio bookend to The Essential Little Walter (or the single disc The Best of Little Walter for those on a budget) by systematically combing the Chess vaults and rounding up the best stuff. No bottom-of-the-barrel scrapings here; this compilation effectively renders all '70s Euro vinyl bootlegs null and void, both.
  5. The mighty MUDDY WATERS turns up here and there too - the opening track on CD1 is "Evan's Shuffle", the B-side of Muddy's "Louisiana Blues" 78 on Chess which first charted in January - it's Little Walter's first appearance and it's a blast (the title to this review is 5/5(4).
  6. Oct 30,  · Blues harmonica player and composer. His innovation on the harmonica has had impact on succeeding generations. Born & raised in Louisiana, Little Walter had quit school by the age of 12, & was supporting himself with odd jobs & busking around southern cities in Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, & Missouri.
  7. Technically speaking, the title The Complete Chess Masters may be a bit of a misnomer. Little Walter issued the majority of his sides on Chess' sister label Checker with his full LPs appearing on Chess proper, but this is splitting hairs: Walter cut all his solo sides for Chess, often in Chess studios, cutting most during a spell in the early and mid-'50s when he was the most successful artist.
